What is the relationship between x and y?
There is no fixed relationship between x and y but we can find out that relationship by using trial and error. For example, when x = 1, y = 2 (2 x 1)
x = 2, y = 4 (2 x 2)
x = 3, y = 6 (2 x 4)
Therefore, the relationship between x and y is as follows: y is twice of x; so the algebraic relationship between x and u is y = 2 x (x) which also equals to y = 2x.
Is a function a relation?
All functions are relations, since they pair information, but not all relations are functions.
